WAVERLY LIVING

A young family in Waverley required some assistance with their living area, the heart of the home currently used as a place to watch television and, due to the layout, more of a corridor than a warm and inviting space to relax and spend quality family time. The Client had a clear style guide as they had recently made updates to their kitchen with touches of an industrial look, and their favourite accents were oranges and blues. Budget however was key, and with the project commencing in January 2016 shopping in the January sales and a focus on availability was our priority.

Working together we established several options of furniture layouts to add intimacy to the room along a with a furniture look book and decided on a large corner sofa for the entire family to enjoy.
The piece was to sit on a soft and patterned rug which would frame the space, along with a lightweight timber top coffee table, TV console and interesting wall shelving for the client’s personal collections. We offered two lighting schemes with a decorative ceiling pendant and soft floor and table lamps to frame the high ceilings and bring warmth to seating level. A large round mirror was placed to project natural light in to the room with a decorative mirror above the styled fireplace.

With an abundance of leather floor cushions, cosy throws and textured velvet and tibetan fur cushions the room was set to be the perfect retreat for the family to spend their evenings together.
